Cats

Today PJ said, "Mom don't you wish you were a cat? You could lay around and take naps whenever you wanted to."

I said, "That sounds good to me."

He said, "Well except for the getting your tail slammed in the door part. That has to hurt."

Johnny Depp ain't worth the sunburn

I got a horrible sunburn the other day.
The hubby and I and the kiddo took the day off on Wednesday to go see if we could see any of the filming downtown.

We had fun but couldn't see much.

We got about a block away from the scene of the bank robbery. We could see old cars lining the streets.
We could also see the extras. At one point a group of women in 30's dresses, heels, and awesome hairstyles walked by.

We heard the tommy guns firing several times.

One neat thing was local school kids dressed as 1930's newspaper sellers. They walked around selling the daily paper which was printed like a 1930's paper. They added fun to the atmosphere.

Johnny was chauffeured right past us and waved out the back window. PJ didn't get to see him because some rude teenagers shoved past us. He was not happy.

We stood across from his trailer for awhile--along with a few thousand other people. He didn't come out and we were done waiting so we left.

I got a horrible sunburn. I wasn't expecting that in April. I'm not really into Hollywood and aside from Pirates of the Carribean I have no clue who Johnny Depp is. I don't keep up with it all.

We went because it isn't an everyday thing around here. Also I didn't want my son to be sitting around someday saying we wouldn't take him to see the only movie ever filmed in Oshkosh.

So while it was neat and everything, Johnny wasn't worth my nasty sunburn.

He cracks me up

My husband came home from work last night and said completely seriously,

"If Jimmy cracked corn and we don't care, why did someone write a song about it?"

I burst out laughing. I told him I guess I never thought about that.

When Hollywood came to Oshkosh

Johnny Depp is filming a John Dillinger movie. Part of the movie is being shot in town soon.

We've enjoyed driving downtown and seeing what has changed.

Here are the photos we took today.

Lots of excitement. We may go down one day to watch the filming. I'm not sure about that. It may be a big zoo!

I've been hearing about this but haven't taken the time to sign up yet.

It's an alternative to paypal. A way to accept money online.

Right now they are giving up $25.00 to sign up.
I did it this morning and the $25.00 is already in my account.

If you sign up with my link, I get $10.00 too.

It's quick and easy.

Spring at the park

In Wisconsin, as soon as it sort of maybe feels like spring, we must get out!

PJ wanted to go to the park today so he could ride his bike fast.

I brought along the camera and got some shots of him being a big boy. (Such a big boy....sigh!)

Say it isn't so!

This afternoon, I was on a Christian forum and heard the news. I hadn't had the TV on yet for the day.
I felt sad at first, I admit it. Then I decided that I really do have more important things to be sad about. Honestly! It's "only football".

If you're not from around here, you probably agree with me. If you are from around here you're probably reading with shocked horror. (HOW CAN SHE SAY THAT?!)

This evening, I saw 2 photo/music montages on Brett's career. Ok! I do bleed Green and Gold.
I was sitting on the couch teary eyed wondering, "What are we going to do!?"

My son a true Packer fan said, "Oh well. AJ Hawk is a good player too, Mom!"

We'll be ok. Just give us a few days to get some closure.

A couple of projects

Here are a couple of projects I've done lately.

I saw the idea to decorate the magnet frames somewhere online.
I like how it makes the front of the fridge look less cluttered.
I also like that they look more special than mis-matched magnets on every corner.

I found the planner at Walmart. I know that means I'm probably a hopeless scrapbook addict, but it was so fun to put my 2 favorite guys on my planner where I can see them everyday.

A Wisconsin Funny

And the worst thing is there is MORE SNOW tomorrow!

Whatever happened to the Bird flu?

Insert a snort.
Anything to keep us hyped up and freaked out about germs.

It was even less of a problem than I ever realized.
Did you notice how it just quietly disappears? Along with all the other pandemics they like to think up to keep us pumping their garbage into our veins.

Article here.

Winter, Winter Go Away

We're tired of winter here!

Too much snow.
Too much below zero!

Another snow storm on the way!

Spring spring, wherefore art thou spring?
